25th Anniversary Chili Cook Off Fires Up a Spicy Celebration
Our 25th Anniversary Chili Cook Off brought the heat, and it was nothing short of chili-bration! This year’s theme, A World of Chili, took our taste buds on a traveling trip around the Redi Carpet Warehouse, with samples of chili full of international inspiration. We also saw creative twists to the theme, with one booth fully prepped for the end of the world, and another team ready to blast off with their “Out of This World” themed booth. With 25 years under our belts, this year’s event sizzled with fierce competition, flavorful dishes, and a whole lot of fun. A huge thank you to the fiery efforts of our event committee, co-chaired by Kerry Egelston of Griffis Blessing, Stephanie Glowczewski of AMLI Residential, and Mario Reyes of Redi Carpet. Their hard work made this milestone year one to remember.
The heat was on as our distinguished judges took to the stage for a live tasting. We had AAMD Hall of Fame members Ed Schell, Chip Kabrud, and Susan Lind, along with Kit Baker-Carr from Entryway, our special guest and AAMD Community Service Partner, braving the spice and savoring every bite to crown this year’s champions. Their taste buds earned some cool-down time!

In honor of our 25th year, we celebrated with a special Silver Jubilee Spotlight Award to recognize a team that fully embraced the 25th anniversary of this AAMD family-favorite event. The coveted award went to the silver-jacketed studs at RedPeak for their incorporation of the 25th anniversary and attention to detail!

The Chili Cook Off committee developed a new award for our Management Company participants. The new award is the Super SPICE Cup! This traveling trophy went to the management company that brought the heat in every category: Spirited Participation, Innovation, and Culinary Expression. These finalists didn’t just make chili—they made an experience.

The competition was as fierce as the chili was flavorful, and the camaraderie between teams showed that after 25 years, the Chili Cook Off continues to be a stew-pendous event that brings us together. We can’t wait to see what spicy surprises await next year!
